Note: Sometimes the desperation of wanting to look good can push others to fasting or purging, believe me I know the feeling but nothing is worst than feeling weak and disgusted in yourself.. A lot of eating disorders lead to depression and self harm and I tell you this, nothing is worth it. Make the change you want others to see in you!! But you can’t make that change without believing you can actually do it in the first place.

A few tips here and there..

www.nowloss.com is a great place if you’re looking for a change of diet or any tips!

Caloriecount or Loseit is great to keep track of your progress and daily intake.

  • Always drink a glass of ice cold water before a meal as it fills you up.
  • Aim to drink at least 2 litres of water a day as it increases your metabolism.
  • Apparently, lemon water is great for burning fat - fresh lemon juice + water in the morning. I tried lemon water for 1 week mixed with my regular exercise routine and lost around 2-3lbs. It’s good if you want to cleanse your body and is good for skin and if you are feeling bloated.
  • Whenever you want to snack, always go for fresh and raw vegetables as it fills you up quicker as it is also good for detox.
  • Cardio cardio cardio! It’s the best way to lose fat all around, you can’t spot reduce as you are only building muscle under your fat… you either lose weight all over or you don’t lose any at all.
  • When preparing a meal, always use olive oil as a substitute for any others. You can get oil spray cans which contain 1kcal per spray which is what I use!
  • Nuts are a good source of protein and great snack.. always choose natural nuts instead of the ready packed and salted nuts.
  • It’s so frustrating when you hit a plateau but never give up! I’m a very impatient dieter and I hit a plateau quite often, just try and mix your routine a bit or try different foods.
  • You know you’ve done enough work once your body feels cold, this means you’ve done enough work to burn fat! Once you’re feeling cold and after a intense workout, eating carbs or any fat burning food within 30 minutes after your working and it increases your metabolism like crazy and you will burn fat so much quicker!!
  • Interval and resistance training! Do different sets of weights followed by a 10 minutes of alternate 30 seconds sprints and then do different sets of ab or leg work again followed with interval training until you’re worn out.
  • Calorie count always! As I’ve been told, a diet is 70% diet and only 30% exercise. Even though exercise is important and essential to a healthy lifestyle, diet is most most important so you’re gonna have to sacrifice! My weakness is fried food, I’ve not had fries since February 2011.

When I’m feeling weak

I usually pinch myself, make myself aware of how much work I need to do which sometimes motivates me to exercise. I am the most laziest person ever and I love food… I tend to look at motivational pictures, the before and after pictures often too - it always gets me going!
Even if its just a quick 10 minute interval training, it’s better than nothing. Once you decide you’re on a diet, don’t think “Oh I’ll start tomorrow” start here and now or you will never get there without the dedication and patience.

Good luck everyone :) we can do it together hehe.
